Preferences
Audio output, where caches are stored, the LUT library, and the folders searched for VST3 plug-ins.
Open preferences with Ctrl, , or search for them with CtrlK . Everything saves as you change it. RESET ALL puts every section back to its defaults.
Audio
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Output | The device you listen on, or the system default. The output opens with the first play. |
| Buffer | How much sound is held before it reaches the speakers: 20, 40, 80 or 160 ms. Lower stays tighter to the picture but is more likely to break up. |
| Format | Fixed at 48 kHz, 32-bit float, stereo. Your output device converts to whatever the hardware needs. |
Storage
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Cache | Where analysis data and playback proxies are written. BROWSE… to move it, REVEAL to open it, USE DEFAULT to go back. A change takes effect the next time BEATFORGE starts, so nothing already written is left behind. |
| LUT library | A folder of the conversion LUTs your cameras’ makers publish. When set, a camera detected shooting a log profile with a matching LUT in the folder is corrected on the program monitor without being asked. LUTs are matched by file name, so keep the maker’s own names. FORGET turns the library off. |
| Free space | How much room is left on the cache drive. A night of proxies runs to a few gigabytes. |
Plug-ins
The standard VST3 folders are always searched. ADD FOLDER… adds another, and RESCAN looks again after you install something. The count of plug-ins found is shown under the list.
